Stems Florist and Indigo-2

Indigo-2 designed and maintain the Stems Florist website and the site is a bespoke solution built in XHTML 1.0, PHP, PERL and CSS. Indigo-2 also shot all the flower, gift and store photographs. The photographer was Ceilidh Walker, a New Zealand freelancer. Please note all photographs are digitally watermarked and are copyright, as are the design and code. Here is some more information about the Stems site:

Indigo Server Rack

Web Server

Stems Florist use space on Indigo-2's dedicated server running 2x AMD Opteron 2212 CPUs (quad core, 4x 2.0 Ghz cores), 2 GB RAM, 3ware RAID5, 4x 160 GB SATA HDD which Indigo moved onto in December 2006. Indigo moved to this setup due to ever increasing traffic levels and the need for additional redundancy.

Credit Cards and Worldpay

The WorldPay payment system uses a combination of techniques to ensure the security and integrity of all sensitive data. This ensures that our clients can have confidence that their credit card details are being handled securely. Not even we see them. Learn more about Worldpay Security >>

Stems Blog

The Stems Florist blog operates on the open-source Wordpress platform. We use the blog to announce news or simply talk about flowers.

Catalogue

The online product catalogue system and website backend is powered by Links SQL, the PERL based flagship product of Canadian software company Gossamer Threads Inc. This is a highly flexible and customisable product that has allowed us to provide you with a website that is highly scalable.

Mozilla Firefox

Our site works with both IE (Microsoft) and Mozilla based browsers (like any web standards compliant site should) but we have a special place in our 'open-source' hearts for Firefox. It is a great browser with many useful extensions.
